There's so much to see and do in Belvidere.  Let's build an ideal one day's visit!  Your own sojourn may differ, so consider this list as a menu of possibilities.

Morning

-  Up early for breakfast at Thisilldous Eatery, a comfortable nook frequented by the locals.  Ask for the "Pequest Special" and you'll be energized for the rest of the day.

-  Time to walk off those delicious calories with a brisk stroll around Garrett D. Wall Park, our majestic tree lined Town Square.  You'll be reminded of a picturesque Vermont village.

-  Pause for a brief rest and reflection in one of our stately churches surrounding the Square.  Saunter over to a comfortable bench in front of our imposing County Courthouse and enjoy the view.

-  Time to explore little rows of downtown shops offering interesting antiques, Victorian clothing, jewelry, arts, and crafts.  Our shopping is easily walkable from the Square.

-  Tummy hungry?  Turn the clock back a few decades and follow the crowd to the classic  Uncle Buck's Diner.  Nothing much has changed here, especially the belly-filling food and friendly hospitality.

Afternoon

-  Out the door and you're on Greenwich Street.  Stop and gaze at the Pequest River falls.  If you want to rest a bit more cross the street and sit a while in our town's pretty Gazebo aside the river and watch the anglers.

-  Claim your place on the Historical Society's Walking Tour.  Led by an entertaining guide dressed in period costume, you'll discover why we're one of the State's richest tourism treasures.

-  End your tour at the recently restored
Hotel Belvidere.  Sit a while in their front parlor, savoring a cup of tea and chatting with the knowledgeable innkeeper.

-  Pay your respects at our 150 year old Cemetery, housing several Civil War heroes.  Browse through the beautiful monuments, reflect on words of poetry and tribute carved into weathered headstones.

-  Photo opportunities abound in our Historic District.  Some of the State's finest Victorian home architecture is on display, complete with companion gardens.

-  Peek into our
Country Gate Theatre  to see if the cast is rehearsing for one of their many live plays.  Bill and Gina Scurato are quite proud of this acclaimed small town theatre group.  Sign up for one of their acting classes.

-  Up for a quick stroll into Pennsylvania?  Ask for directions to our 150 year old Delaware Bridge.   Catch sight of passing canoes and kayaks below.  Wave to the Bridgemaster.

-  Still in the mood for shopping?  Ample time to drop into one of those timeless and undiscovered little places hosted by fascinating shopkeepers sure to regail you with stories of old.

Evening

-  Dinner time!  Whatever your culinary preferences the greater Belvidere area is sure to satisfy.  Before dinner stop for a glass of wine at the Hotel.  Then head out to your choice of local restaurants for a great meal.  Our own Corner Deli presents live music on Wednesday and Thursday evenings with dinner.

-  As darkness falls you may be interested in joining a tour of Belvidere's paranormal side.  Yes, we are certain several buildings play host to Spirits from the past.  (Coming soon!)

-  Time to rest.  You've hopefully reserved a room at the
Hotel Belvidere.  Cozy up in your period furnished nook and savor the experiences you've just had during your "ideal one day in Belvidere"
