Christmas in Belvidere!
Christmas in Belvidere kicks off in December with
the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at Garret
D. Wall Park, our Town Square, on December 9th.
The festivities continue through the weekend. Many
of our local churches participate with dinners.
Throughout the weekend, enjoy horse-drawn carriage
rides and visit Santa in Riverside Park. Listen
to strolling Caroler's sing your favorite Christmas
songs throughout the business district as you kick-off
your Christmas shopping. A good time to be had by
all.
In 2005, we started our celebration on December
9th for the annual tree lighting festivities and
continued through December 10th and 11th for more
fun.
At right is our schedule of the many events that
took place.
In addition, the Belvidere Economic Development
and Tourism Committee introduced "Belvidere
Buns" at the bakery on Water Street. We
hope it will become another Christmas tradition!
The Belvidere merchants and the BEDC welcomed
everyone to enjoy the "Open House"
surprises planned for our Second Annual Christmas
in Belvidere. Many unadvertised specials awaited
at our shops and eateries during this weekend
event. Always something for everyone making
this holiday season a memorable one in "Our
Town".
